Pontycymer, is a former mining village in Wales. It is situated in the Garw Valley, in Bridgend County Borough, about 7 miles or 11 km north of the town of Bridgend. It‘s attractions include a small Heritage railway. At the southern (lower) end of the village, marking its boundary with Pantygog, the River Garw is joined from the east by the Nant Fforch Wen ("White Fork Stream"). At the northern (upper) end, towards its boundary with Blaengarw, the River Garw is joined by the Nant Gelli Wern ("Marsh Grove Stream") at Ffaldau, the village square.

Among those born in the village are the artist and journalist Molly Parkin, the news reader Huw Edwards and Wendy Phillips the “ cleaning lady who went to Hollywood’ and who was the inspiration for the Sara Sugarman's film “ Mrs Harris goes to Paris”

Additional costs: The purchase of the property may be subject to (but are not limited to), VAT (if applicable), reimbursement of the seller’s search fees, reimbursement of seller’s legal and/or sales costs, stamp duty/land transaction tax (LTT). * Generally speaking Guide Prices are provided as an indication of each seller's minimum expectation, i.e. 'The Reserve'. They are not necessarily figures which a property will sell for and may change at any time prior to the auction. Virtually every property will be offered subject to a Reserve (a figure below which the Auctioneer cannot sell the property during the auction) which we expect will be set within the Guide Range or no more than 10% above a single figure Guide.
